Tonight was the last Dale Lowe Signs Summer Series for 2018, and now the officials can take a well-earned break until hostilities resume on January 29th 2019.
It was a pretty small field with biggish bunches off scratch and second and pretty small groups out the front, so the odds were stacked against the limit riders. Second scratch was driven hard by Andrew Mason to maintain a big lead over scratch at the turnaround, then they rounded up the rest of the field on Exchange Hill. The bunch kept the momentum up and scratch at bay on the run in with a good dozen lining up for the sprint. Leigh Leroy Norton jumped a long way out but was swamped when Andrew Mason (4 min) lit the afterburners and powered away for a big win in front of Paul Dynon (7 min) Richard Mcintosh (7 min) in a great comeback ride, Ian Stringer (4 min), Steve Baines (7 min) and David Cripps (4 min). Jo Stolz led scratch home 40 seconds later to record fastest time of 48 min 18 sec. Have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. See you in 2019!
