Vet's racing resumed this evening with the first Dale Lowe Signs Summer Series criterium at the Murphy Street course. Numbers were down and, with the temperature nudging 35 degrees, the races were shortened to 25, 30 and 35 minutes for A,B and C grades respectively. A Grade lost a few on the way round, then Stuart Laing attacked with a couple of laps to go but couldn't hold off the field. Jo Stolz led the chase to bring him back and Martin Banfield finished off ahead of Darren Jones and Chris Landvogt. Steve Rooney and Ian Stringer jumped away from the rest of the B Grade field early in the race. Ian dropped back after 15 minutes but Steve steadily increased his lead to win by half a lap from David Hogan and Neil Andrews. Peter Ladd blew the C Grade field apart half way through, then Greg Chapman and Carl Louchard bridged across to set up a three-way sprint. Peter finished off a great ride to win convincingly from Greg and Carl.
