The legend that is Lloyd Patterson lived again today with the running of the Patto 50 at Woodstock.
Patto was on hand to witness the 22 starters belt into a head wind from Woodstock to Newbridge before heading south to Laanecoorie, then taking advantage of the tail wind along Maryborough Road before heading home. The limit markers were overhauled by a strong 16 min bunch before Laanecoorie, and the Deer Farm Hill gave Nicky Rose the opportunity to pull clear of first Wendy Bennett and then Tom de Vries. All the bunches in her wake fought team time trial battles, and the lack of a big chasing group played into Nicky's hands who, with a fantastic ride, soloed to victory with a big gap back to Tom de Vries in second, chewing the handlebars to stay clear of the fast finishing group led by Pam Robertson in third. She was followed by Gino Abbisogni, Shane Delavedova, Neil Andrews. Ray Colwell, Wendy Bennett, Shane Wall and Andrew Berry. Richard Mcintosh led the scratch bunch home to record fastest time.
