There was a field of forty riders for the second last round of the Dale Lowe Signs Summer Series, sponsored by GA & PA Pilcher Building Contractors.
The small field of twenty-eight riders, for the Freedom Tanks 35Km Handicap at Woodstock, was no doubt due to the contingent of riders saving themselves for the Open Handicap at Dookie, the following day.
It was rather ferocious conditions for the thirty-four riders in the
field for the Graded Scratch Race in the 14th. round of the Dale Lowe
Summer Series, sponsored by VMG Accounting.
Temperatures at Woodstock might have been lower for the CVVCC 59 Km BART'n'PRINT Handicap on Sunday morning but any illusions the 40-strong field might have had about an easy ride were shattered by the strong southerly wind which buffeted the course all day.
